Throughout the immigration process there is the applicant and the petitioner. There are many steps in the immigration visa process and knowing who's responsible for each step can be confusing. In this blog, we will discuss the general overview of the process, and who should be completing each step.

STEPS:

  1. Submit a Petition P
  2. NVC Processing B
  3. Pay Fees B
  4. Affidavit of Support P
  5. Financial Documents P
  6. Online Applications A
  7. Civil Documents A
  8. Scan Documents B
  9. Submit Documents B
  10. Interview Preparation A
  11. Applicant Interview A
  12. After the Interview A

The Petitioner is responsible for step 1, step 4, & 5. The Applicant is responsible for step 6, 7, 10, 11, & 12. Steps 2, 3, 8, & 9 will be completed by both the petitioner AND the applicant.
